PALMER — The driver of the car involved in an accident last July that killed the son of the chairman of East Longmeadow's Board of Selectmen pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide Tuesday morning in Palmer District Court.
Brian Perron, 34, was driving with Daniel Federici, 30, of Springfield at about 9:30 on the night of July 13, 2015 when the car crashed into a wall on Chestnut Street in East Longmeadow, west of Prospect Street.
Perron, of East Longmeadow, was treated for non-life threatening injuries at Baystate Medical Center, but Federici -- the son of East Longmeadow Board of Selectmen Chairman Paul L. Federici -- was pronounced dead at a Springfield hospital.
Through his attorney, Perron pleaded not guilty at his arraignment to a marked lanes violation and motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation.
Judge Michael Mulcahy scheduled a pretrial hearing for April 13.
He was married and the father of three children, according to his obituary, which was published in The Republican.
